What is the Continuing Education Requirement?
To maintain your Eat Breathe Thrive certification, you must complete 30 hours of continuing education (CE) every three years, from the date you sign your agreement. This includes:
At least 20 hours of Eat Breathe Thrive-led training.
Up to 10 hours of related training from external organizations, provided it aligns with one of the categories below.

Virtual Client Observations
Observe experienced Practitioners apply Eat Breathe Thrive interventions in live one-on-one client sessions. You’ll learn how to adapt EBT Intervention exercises and practices in individual settings. Find upcoming events here.
Skill-Building Webinars
Attend live or on-demand webinars led by Eat Breathe Thrive faculty and guest experts. Example topics include facilitation techniques, best practices for supporting individuals with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image challenges, and updates from peer-reviewed research. Professional Seminars

What External Trainings are Eligible for CE?
We also accept credits from external CE providers on a discretionary basis. To apply for recognition CE credits from an external provider, the training must fall into one of the following categories, and you must provide a certificate of completion that indicates the number of hours.
Eating Disorders
Topics may include: treatment modalities, trauma-informed care, neurobiology of eating disorders, harm reduction, and integrating somatic practices into recovery.
Yoga Therapy
Topics may include: adaptive yoga for mental health, trauma-sensitive sequencing, somatic techniques, and integrating yoga philosophy into therapeutic settings.
Supporting Diverse Needs
Topics may include: working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, disabilities, medical contraindications, systemic marginalization, or socioeconomic barriers.
Crisis and Suicide Intervention
Topics may include: suicide prevention training, trauma de-escalation, ethical boundaries in crisis care, and community resource navigation.
Professional Development
Topics may include: cultural competency, ethical decision-making, inclusive communication, and building equitable partnerships.
What Do I Need to Do?
No immediate action is required. You may log your continuing education hours at any point during your three-year certification cycle using the CE Logging Form. We will notify you via email 60 days prior to your certification expiration date with renewal instructions.
